Kimerer L. LaMothe

Kimerer LaMothe, award-winning author, philosopher, dancer, and playwright is co-founder of Vital Arts, a creative center for arts and ideas, located on a farm in upstate New York. After earning a doctorate in the Study of Religion from Harvard University, she spent eight years at Brown and then Harvard Universities, teaching, writing, and dancing. She is the author of eight books, two musicals, and myriad articles and book chapters. She has created three solo dance concerts; and received fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, the Center for the Study of World Religions, and the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (3x). Following a dream, she moved to the farm where she lives with her partner, the youngest two of their five children, one cat, two calves, three Jersey cows, and five chickens.
