Jean Smith

Jean Smith is the author of two published novels (Arsenal Pulp Press, GTTP Editions) and a two-time recipient of Canada Council for the Arts Awards as a professional writer of creative fiction.

Jean is the singer in the literary rock duo Mecca Normal whose 13th album "Empathy for the Evil" was release in September of 2014 by M'lady's Records. Previous albums were released by Kill Rock Stars, K Records, Matador, and Smarten UP! Records.

Song lyrics on "Empathy for the Evil" are directly out of Jean Smith's two most-recently completed novels.
