Marco Adria

Marco Adria is a professor, writer, and media commentator. He was born in 1959 in Canada and educated at the University of Alberta and Trent University in Canada, and at Aston University in the United Kingdom. He is a past president of the Canadian Library Trustees' Association and an honorary life member of the Alberta Library Association. His book, Technology and Nationalism, won the Lewis Mumford Award from the New York-based Media Ecology Association.

The Lighted Marketplace is his first novel.

He lives with his wife Kathy in Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta. He is also a citizen of Italy and spends part of each year teaching and writing in Florence. His daughter is the British Columbia activist and teacher Laura Lafortune. His son, Joel Adria, is an internationally recognized multimedia designer.
