Ted Magnuson

Ted Magnuson (1951-) was born in Detroit, Michigan. After completing an MBA in Florida he traveled west to study sawmills, lumber yards, often insuring family businesses where he saw succession planning first hand. 'The Bouchard Legacy' (2012) tells of the coming of age of two young men in 1960's Mid-America, who coincidentally also wrest with succession planning (for the Sunny Day Beverage Company of St. Louis, MO. On coming of age stories in general, Ted believes they are salient; don't we each develop a (sometimes indelible) 'roadmap' of the world when children become adults? Though the 'The Bouchard Legacy' is fiction, many of its events did occur. Were you there? Workplace safety has also been a major concern of Teds. When his sister Laura died in her early 30's due to complications arising from fumes inhaled in the workplace, thoughts of an alien abduction haunted him (she was swept away to heaven...) His first novel, 'The Moses Probe,' (2006). was prompted by that loss. Ted loves the out of doors, especially cycling up and over mountain passes. He is married, dances the Samba, and has two grown sons.
