Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy is a writer who lives in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. A graduate of Villanova University, he worked at the Hartford Courant through the 1970s and then ran a successful building business until he retired in 2000. His books include Water for Hartford (Wesleyan), Crowbar Governor (Wesleyan), Fly Fishing in Connecticut (Wesleyan), Lydia Sherman (Shining Tramp), The Gandy Dancers (Shining Tramp), Fighting Joe Hawley (Shining Tramp), A Few Murphys From Brockton (Shining Tramp), Prostitution in the Gilded Age (Shining Tramp), Saint Augustine School (Shining Tramp) and Capucine (Shining Tramp). Although Kevin Murphy spends much of his time researching and writing, on summer afternoons he can be found fly fishing on the West Branch of the Farmington River in and around the tiny village of Riverton.
