Stan Chu Ilo

Stan Chu Ilo is a research professor at the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology, DePaul University, Chicago, USA. He specializes in African Christianity, African intellectual history, Catholic Ecclesiology and the World Church, religion and violence, religion and social transformation, equity and diversity in education and critical cultural theories. He is the 2017 winner of the AfroGlobal Television Excellence Award for Global Impact and the President and founder of the Canadian Samaritans for Africa which works in five African countries to promote gender equality and women empowerment through micro-finance, food security and social entrepreneurship. He is an African public intellectual whose essays on religion, politics, social issues, church and development, gender equality, racism etc have appeared in Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Chicago Tribune, CNN, blog, National Catholic Reporter, Catholic Register, USCatholic Magazine, Canada Television ( CTV) and in Huffpost and The Hill among other channels. He has appeared in such channels as Fox News, Aljazeera, CTV, Huffpost Live among others.
