* 1993, Outstanding Service Award, given by Colorado Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Tracy received his doctorate from Iowa State University in Marriage and Family Therapy. He also holds a Master's degree from Texas Tech University in Family Relations. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Colorado and is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy-AAMFT.

While writing his book "Practice Building 2.0" Tracy was recruited for the position of Director of Professional and Public Affairs for AAMFT. Considering this a challenge and the ultimate "going out while on top" he chose to accept the position believing he could apply his skills and expertise to help a great number of therapists.
