The Eunuch Neferu is a tale of naivete and innocence. It is a remembrance of a little boy who was forced to keep the secrets of an adult and face the world as an unaffected, smiling child. It is an hommage to a child who loved in spite of his sorrows. The Eunuch Neferu is a cathartic recounting of Marsche's personal, childhood journey of abuse re-wound to a place and time where his emotions could be expressed without contempt.

"The entire book is all a part of the journey I had to take in order to come into my own wholeness and realize that I am allowed to walk away from the pain and dysfunction of my past. Did I love my abuser? Yes, because he was an integral presence in my life. Did I enjoy the sexual nature of the abuse? No, I didn't even know that it was sex. I was just doing what I was told by an adult whom I wanted to love me and whom I wanted to convince that I was a good boy. I was not a sexual being as a child, I was used as a sexual object; there is a huge difference."

The Eunuch Neferu is an unabashed approach to presenting the fundamental love that often exists between a child and their abuser. And how that love can be utilized to manipulate, influence and control the child. "It is terribly confusing and ironic when you discover that your entire history has been sinful and dirty, and it takes a lot of work to overcome. But no one has to live in eternal victimhood. There is life after the abuse."

Daniel Tegan Marsche resides in Florida where he works as a writer for a technology company.
