Janet Meizel has been a lecturer at the U.C. School of Medicine for more than thirty years and is currently a member of the Department of Community Health. She also taught Computer Science at Davis High School for twenty-two years as well as Advanced Placement Spanish Literature for her last four years at DHS. She has raised two extremely allergic daughters.
Previous publications include the first version of Your Food Allergic Child in 1988, Spanish for Medical Personnel—a textbook—and multiple articles for journals and magazines. She also has published an app through the Apple App store for physicians, nurses and other health workers called MedSpan which assists them in communicating with their Spanish-speaking patients.
