Peter Dorsen

Dr. Peter Dorsen, aka Dr. D, is a retired internist, now a licensed alcohol and drug counselor specializing in individual chemical health counseling. His latest ebook, "Up from the Ashes: One Doc's Struggle with Drugs and Mental Illness," is about his struggle with bipolar illness and recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

Dr. Dorsen has coached, instructed, and raced Nordic skiing all his life. He has raced the 55K North American Birkebeiner, the largest ski race in North America, and consistently finds himself on the winners' podium of his age group in the upper Midwest. He delights in seeing others, especially the over 40 set, enjoy all forms of skiing.

As well as counseling, he lectures and writes about numerous human interest and societal topics. His interests range from sports medicine to aging to the male role in society.
