Karen Ross Epp holds a Bachelors degree from Bethel College
In North Newton, Kansas and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction
from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Karen retired from
teaching at the middle school level in 2004.
Karen was born and raised in the rolling hills and farm country
of southeastern Iowa, near Mount Pleasant, until she left for college and
marriage. Her love of family and history prompted Karen to preserve and
honor not only her brother’s memory, but all men who served so bravely
With him and have a story to tell.
Since the publication of "With Love Stan", Karen and her family have had the privilege and honor of meeting the men she interviewed for the book, in person. After 40 years these men shared the memories of her brother and their tour of duty in Vietnam in 1969.

Karen lives with her husband, Regionalism Artist, Phil Epp, in rural Kansas at the edge of the Flint Hills.
