Ian S. Sutton

Ian Sutton is a chemical engineer and a member of the Episcopalian (Anglican) church. He has written many books to do with risk management in the process and energy industries. His most recent titles are:

• Process Risk and Reliability Management (2nd edition);

• Offshore Safety Management (2nd edition); and

• Plant Design and Operations (2nd edition).

The first two books, which are published by Elsevier, provide a thorough coverage of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS). Plant Design and Operations provides practical and comprehensive information to do with the design and operation of facilities in the process and energy industries. It also provides a host of links to useful sources of information such as YouTube videos, engineering standards, manufacturers information and web sites.

He also provides many free articles and safety moments, all of which can be accessed at his web site: https://iansutton.com.

Ian is also writing ‘A New City of God: Theology for an Age of Limits’. This book describes how our society is hitting limits with regard to resources, environment, finance and population. These limits are predicaments, not problems. That is, there is no way that we can make them go away. However, the situation does provide an opportunity for the Christian church to provide leadership in what will be difficult times. The situation also calls for a theology that fits our times.

He publishes information to do with these issues at his blog, https://newcityofgod.com/.
