A popular comedian, speaker, and humorist, Stacy's "day job" is as a story consultant and producer in Hollywood where she helps authors and filmmakers find, write, and share their stories in the form of books and movies. Branded as The Memoir Midwife, Stacy is the author of the popular book "The Memoir Midwife: Nine Steps to Self-Publishing Your Book". In this entertaining, yet highly informative book, she compares the nine major steps required to self-publish one's book to the nine months of pregnancy, because, let's face it, creating art is like giving birth. Think of "The Memoir Midwife: Nine Steps to Self-Publishing Your Book" as the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" of the self-publishing world.
In 2011 she self-published the hilarious book, CONFESSIONS OF A BAND GEEK MOM, an anthology of her most popular comedy stories in which she tells what it's like to trade in Prada bags for diaper bags to stay home and raise kids who love noisy chaos (don't they all?). The book is all about modern-day parenting when you're out of your element, told through the skewed point-of-view of a seasoned comedian. A must-read for any mom or dad who feels like they're bumbling around in the dark when it comes to raising their kids.
Today Stacy's sons are grown and successful, professional musicians, which has allowed her to go back to what she does best--sharing her comedy and helping people tell their own stories. A popular, award-winning corporate speaker, comedian, and solo theatre performer, she has accumulated several national speaking accolades including placing as a semi-finalist in 2012 Toastmasters International Speech Contest, where she competed for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking. In 2016 Stacy gave a TEDx Talk entitled "Prison: A Startling Path to Creativity" about how she mentored federal prison inmate David C. Taylor to write his compelling book JACUMBA CONNECTION (available on Amazon). In 2018 she expanded her TED Talk into her popular one-woman show, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RAZOR RIBBON, which won a Producer's Encore Award at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival. And in February of 2019 she premiered her one-hour comedy special, A BIT MUCH, at Whitefire Theatre's Solofest to rave reviews, and continued touring her show in the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival, which also won a Producer's Encore award for that year.
Stacy resides in Hollywood, California.
