Les Coalson was born and raised in Texas. He attended Texas A&M where he earned a master's degree in natural resources development and the University of Texas at San Antonio where he obtained his MBA. He has written for newspapers and national magazines. His first book, "Sever the Darkness",set in the Texas Hill Country, was published by Eakin Press in 2003 and converted to an e-book in 2011.
"I enjoy blending mystery and suspense with environmental issues to create meaningful contemporary fiction," he says. "I want my readers to not only thrill at the unfolding suspense in my stories, but to learn about environmental and ecological issues weaved throughout the drama."
"Color of Blood" is the second novel in the Clay Aker Mystery Series. The setting involves issues along the Texas Coast. It was released by Eakin Press in 2008 and was selected as a 2009 Rreviewers Choice award winner for fiction.
"Ransomed Earth" has an international setting and cast. It addresses environmental concerns in China, Ecuador and the U.S.
