James Padgett

AJ Padgett was born in 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The second son in a large family, he grew up in a rapidly changing Hawaii. He skipped college to become a deep sea fisherman and at 22, became a licensed captain. For many years, AJ ran charter fishing vessels around the Hawaiian islands, fishing for big game-fish such as Blue Marlin and Tuna.

He began his writing career with several short stories about life as a fisherman and black coral diver. He went on to write several technical works before publishing his first book, "Mission Over Indochine", the story of his father's life and wartime experiences. A.J. is working on his second full length book now, a novel set in the mid 19th century. He is also working on a series of childrens books with his own illustrations.
