Laurie Johnson

Born and raised around Carter and Ripley Counties, in Southern Missouri. Laurie's life was an adventure of music, life and adventures, from both sides of her family. Her family moved many times during her childhood and her life was far from boring. She was raised singing and playing music as her parents did and also her three brothers.

Later, she found that she had the knack for writing as her mother always had and the love of a good story, as her dad did.

So, between the love of storytelling and her endless supply of stories to choose from, writing seemed to be something she was drawn to. Most are from childhood memories or experiences, as they were either lived or told too her. Her dad always had memories to share and her mother too, about past times or even grandparents. Who would tell of their memories and reminisce about their lives before.

Her writings are reflections of her own feelings or moods. Even as life sometimes will lead us, in unexpected directions. Sometimes directions, we otherwise might never have traveled. Her writings will lead you in many different directions, as her moods change and the memories surface, to flow onto her pen and paper.

Laurie was raised in the hills, covered with towering pine trees and those huge oak trees, along the Current River. With a life of simplicity and love, she still finds herself craving the peace and tranquility in her life, that she had known as a child.

She has come to find that in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which reminds her of her childhood home so far away.

Lake Superior has been a source of inspiration and a calming place, which at times she badly needed. She has even gone on to get her 100 Ton Master's Captains Credentials, because of her love of the area and the Great Lakes.

Laurie has two grown sons and several grandchildren, of which you will one day read about in her books of short stories, and you may even find some in her books of writings also. Each child that is born, she has a writing dedicated to that child, for them to have in the future or as they grow.

Laurie's parents are a huge support base for her, as she writes some of the stories her dad or mother has handed down through the years, along with her brothers who are still close. Writing was an escape for her thru the years, when she needed to put her life back into perspective or put her thoughts in order again. So grab a glass of iced tea and sit for a bit, relax with her, as she puts those thoughts to paper or have a chuckle with one of the family memories, and some of their numerous escapades'.

Trust me, her life was never boring, I asked her, "If there was one thing, you could have changed about your life, what would it have been?" Her answer? " That there was nothing about her childhood that she wanted to change, except wish that it would have lasted longer and that her own boys cherished parts of their childhood, as she still does." She stated that she was one of the lucky ones, as her parents were the 'Cool Parents'. And many from her childhood, still remember her parents fondly, even 40 years later. It's those memories that make these books a reality.
