Phillip M. Scanlan

Phil Scanlan's first book, "The Dolphins are Back", shared two major improvement stories. The story of the reversal of New Jersey's shore water pollution crisis and the story of AT&T's quality improvement that led to three business units winning the National Quality Award; both stories occurred in the 1990's. Both these significant improvement stories resulted from application of the AT&T quality approach during the period while Phil was the AT&T Quality Vice President.

Phil's second book, "A Path of Reason for America", shows how that same quality approach can be applied to 23 national crises to restore hope in the American Dream. This book, like the GPS in your vehicle, provides a GPS for the steps needed to reverse our national crises and restore hope in America; while balancing the budget. Phil has also included a personal story, for each of the 23 crises, to show how our national crises has effected his life, or the life of his family; in order to show how much these these national crises effect us all.

Phil leads a community trail non-profit organization that leads efforts to develop a segment of the national East Coast Greenway Trail on Amelia Island, Florida where he lives.

Phil also is on the Florida State College of Jacksonville Business School Advisory Board.
