Steven Ford Brown

Steven Ford Brown is a journalist who divides his life between Boston and various cities in Europe. He writes about professional boxing and mixed martial arts, folk and rock music and jazz. He is a noted translator of Spanish poetry and his translations include "Astonishing World: The Selected Poems of Ángel González", 1956-1986, "Edible Amazonia: Twenty Poems from God's Amazonian Recipe Book" by Nicomedes Suarez Arauz, "Century of the Death of the Rose" and "Microgramas", both books by Jorge Carrera Andrade. He also edited "One More River to Cross", the selected poems of John Beecher, and co-edited "Invited Guest: An Anthology of Twentieth Century Southern Poetry", selected as one of the "Best of the Best from the University Presses" by C-SPAN's "Book TV". His translations and books have been supported by the Spanish Cultural Ministry, National Endowment for the Arts, Linn-Henley Charitable Trust, the Swedish Embassy Cultural Fund in Stockholm, Sweden and the Texas Commission for the Arts. He is currently editing an anthology of contemporary short fiction scheduled for publication in 2010.
