Dr. Robert J. Walker earned his undergraduate degree at Tougaloo College, master’s degree at Webster University, and a second master’s and doctorate at Jackson State University. He is a retired Professor of Education. He dedicated his career to training future public school teachers. He has more than 30 years of teaching and administrative experience—kindergarten through graduate schools. He has taught and served as an administrator in both public and private educational institutions. He completed a fellowship in Ethiopia, Africa where he trained university professors in pedagogy. For his service in Ethiopia, Dr. Walker was awarded Ethiopia Volunteer Teacher of the Year by the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH) organization. He also received the President of the United States Volunteer Service Award for his service and work in Ethiopia.
He conducts educational training workshops and presents at annual state conferences. He has received several teaching and community service awards. Dr. Robert J. Walker has published several books and articles on teaching and learning and other topics related to religion and politics. His writing has been featured in major newspapers such as the Washington Post.
