Joy Gardner-Gordon

I've lived many lives in this one lifetime, and I've had several names: Joy Gardner, Joy Gardner-Gordon, Joyce Prensky and Joyce Chadwick). I've been at the cutting edge of the holistic health movement since 1968. I'm the Director of the Vibrational Healing Certification Program, and the author of 11 published books and 4 unpublished books. I've traveled extensively and have taught throughout the United States, Canada, England and Australia.

I was born in Chicago, then my family moved to San Diego when I was eight years old. From there I went to Los Angeles, Berkeley, New York (Lower East Side in the sixties), the Southwest and the Northwest. I was privileged to spend time with the Hopi, Apache, and Coast Salish Indians, learning herbal, shamanic and sound healing, which I combined with my own ancestral Hebraic culture, as the daughter of a precognitive mother and the granddaughter of a rabbi/cantor

I began my healing career as an herbalist, while living at Cold Mountain Farm (also the title of my first self-published book) in Upstate New York. Later I lived at Black Bear Ranch in Northern California, another rural commune with 80 people on 200 acres of land (see the documentary, Commune). My fellow communards provided the laboratory for one of the first contemporary experiments in holistic healing in 1966. From there, I worked at the Country Doctor Community Clinic in Seattle, where they published my next book, Healing Yourself, as a form of Preventive Medicine for their patients. This little book--combined with a larger version called The New Healing Yourself--eventually sold over 100,000 copies. I also helped start the Siuslaw Rural Health Center near Eugene, Oregon, where I worked as an herbalist and acupuncturist.

Later I went to Escondido, California to study with death-and-loss pioneer Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. From there I went to British Columbia to help start a hospice, where I trained volunteers. I lived in BC for 12 years. I studied Spiritual Healing with British Intuitive, Rev. Helena Ram; Gestalt and Reiki with Bethal Phaigh (author of Gestalt and the Wisdom of the Kahunas), and cellular consciousness with Dr. Graham Ferrant of Australia.

My close relationship with nature gave rise to an intimate sense of communication with rocks and crystals, which led to the creation of my own unique method of healing, which she I call Vibrational Alignment™. It begins with the practitioner using a long thin crystal to feel the spin of energy at each of the seven chakras (energy centers along the spine). Through chakra diagnosis, the practitioner can detect the subtle underlying cause of imbalance in body, mind, emotions and spirit. She can then bring that energy into balance.

Aromatherapy and gemstone therapy provide a feast for the senses, allowing the client to release tension while being nurtured and supported. Sound healing promotes change and a greater sense of harmony. Emotional release and grief counseling ease suffering and confusion by giving the client a safe outlet for pent-up emotions. Past life regressions and cellular consciousness release old dysfunctional patterns, such as the need to see oneself as a victim.

Vibrational Healing is best suited for those who choose to participate in their own healing, and who are willing to use life's challenges as a vehicle to take them to the next level of their spiritual unfoldment.

Since 1992 I have trained and certified hundreds of Vibrational Healers and those who have the techniques to pursue their own healing and personal transformation, and others who have incorporated the vibratory tools into their own work. The program consists of three one-day and five two-day workshops (or their equivalents). In 2009-2010 the Vibrational Healing Certification Program is being taught in person in North Carolina and the first five workshops are also taught via teleconference calls.

I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for eight years, and on Maui for one year where my son, Kalon Prensky, and grandson, Keanu, now live. My younger son, Reuben Prensky, lives in Vancouver, BC, with his wife, Zoey Wren. My current plan is to move back to the Big Island in the Fall of 2010, and I will bring the Vibrational Healing Certification Program there with me. I will continue to teach the first five workshops by teleconference calls.

What about new books? My current passion is cooking. I will soon be releasing a self-published cookbook, Joyous Food for High Frequency People--Free of Wheat, Dairy, Refined Sugar and Red Meat. It has fabulous recipes, and lots of helpful hints about nutritious eating.

I'm also preparing a CD that is the equivalent of my two-day workshop on Balancing the Chakras with Color, Crystals and Aromatherapy.
