His debut novel, A Long Road Home, follows a young girl’s journey through trauma, resilience, and the search for belonging. Its follow-on, Fifty Bales of Hay and a Pair of Jodhpurs, shifts the spotlight to the next generation — weaving together desire, rivalry, small-village secrets, and the dangerous pull of the Grange.

Terry writes with a cinematic eye for landscape and atmosphere, drawing heavily on his home county of Kent — its farms, forests, coastlines, and long-forgotten histories. When not writing, he spends his time exploring the countryside, working on new book ideas, and enjoying life with family and friends.
