Gloria Mattioni

Gloria Mattioni is the author of the multi-award-winning novel "California Sister", "Reckless-The Outrageous Lives of Nine Kick-Ass Women" and "Dakota Warrior-The Story of James R. Weddell". Previously, she published in Italy a novel, "Con Altri Occhi", and three non-fiction books, "Guerriero Dakota", "Wild Women", and "La Tribù dei Mangiatori di Sogni". Born in Milan, Italy, she grew up dreaming of being a pirate, an astronaut and an explorer. Instead, she became a magazine writer and editor, and also an investigative reporter. She loves to travel, surf, and hike with her rescue dogs. In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles--a place she loves for its unique geography in the middle of ocean, desert and mountains.
