Dawn Cusick

I care deeply about reading and science literacy. Books, like science, add joy and depth to everyday life.

So far, I've written twelve nonfiction science books for children. I worked in trade publishing for many years, editing and writing adult nonfiction books, and doing page design for a textile magazine, Fiberarts. For the last 15 years, I have taught general biology courses at a community college in western North Carolina. My books have won awards from the Animal Behavior Society, the National Science Teacher's Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
