Edith Fairman Cooper was born in Oklahoma City, OK. In 1971, shortly after graduating from Oklahoma State University, she moved to the Washington, D.C. area. Edith worked 35 years on Capitol Hill as a Social Science Analyst for the Congressional Research Service (CRS) at the Library of Congress. Professionally, she authored numerous reports for Congress. Edith retired from CRS in 2007. Conducting family history research since 1982, she spends most of her time focused on that genre.
