Jim Langley

Jim Langley is a professional bicycle mechanic, wheelbuilder, cycling engineer for Praxis Works and a longtime bicycle journalist. Along with mechanics, Jim has been writing about the technical and historic aspects of cycling since the 1970's. He was Senior Technical Editor for Bicycling Magazine from 1988 to 2000. And from 2001 to 2016 he helped found and managed a website service used by more than a thousand retail bike shops. Over the years, writing for California Bicyclist magazine, Bicycling, VeloNews, Self, Inside Cycling, RoadBikeRider, Asimba.com, HealthIQ and bicycle retailer websites, Jim has helped generations enjoy cycling and their bikes even more. He has written three books, The New Bike Book, Bicycling Magazine's Complete Guide to Bicycle Maintenance and Repair, and Your Home Bicycle Workshop.
