Carol Deacon

Carol Deacon began cake decorating by accident when a friend asked her to make a birthday cake. The idea of combining creativity with model making and something that also tasted great really appealed to her. Early designs won her gold medals in competitions and even a car in an icing competition run by Good Food magazine. Carol left her then job in advertising and worked for a year at Jane Asher's cake shop in London. Carol then went freelance and ran a cake business before concentrating on writing. Carol has designed and written for many food and cake magazines including "Cake Decoration & Sugarcraft" and has demonstrated her edible artistic skills in the UK, abroad,online, TV and even once on a cross channel ferry!!
