Before graduating from university, New Yorker Beth began acting professionally at age 12, coming to prominence as part of the award-winning LaMaMa Troupe, led by Tom O'Horgan and Ellen Stewart. They invited Beth and her Scottish husband Peter Reid to co-found the Troupe's UK branch, touring throughout Europe. Her successful solo career in films & television includes featured roles in Woody Allen's Love & Death; Tales of the Unexpected; Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy; and hit series Rock Follies.

Acting segued into media journalism as London Editor of Film Journal International; writing fiction & plays; serving as BBC-TV Series development executive; & as exec producer of corporate websites for an international webhouse.

In 2002 Intellect Publishing brought out her book The Net Effect, a socio-cultural account of the internet, with a foreword by David Lord Puttnam.

Resident Aliens: stories of NYC in the 1960s was her first solo collection of short fiction, published in 2013, followed the next year by Drama Queen, a collection of original scripts and screenplays.

In April 2016 Beth published her absurdly long autobiography Walking On My Hands: how I learned to take responsibility for my life with the help of Woody Allen, Barbra Streisand, Greta Garbo, Harvey Milk, Idi Amin, Guy the Gorilla, & Frank Sinatra among others. Its foreword is by Shane Connaughton, award-winning novelist and screenwriter of My Left Foot. However, in 2020, she offered selected chapters of the book for kindle readers.

Later in 2016 she published Settling Beyond The Pale, her 2nd collection of short fiction. In October 2017 she published, Feeding the Twins, a magical realism take on the horror genre.

In November 2017 Beth published ScreenSaver! her debut novel, a rom-com with a fantasy twist. Her 2nd novel, Becca's Providing, was published in 2019, it explores themes of family, identity, and moving on. It also contains tips on how to commit the perfect crime.

In December 2019 Beth published Painted Ladies, her 3rd collection of short fiction which comprises stories inspired by classic paintings of women. In autumn 2020 a new story was chosen to appear in an American anthology of short fiction; it is due for publication by the end of the year. Beth has also completed a quartet of short fiction entitled Locks, which is available in both kindle and paperback versions.

Beth's latest publication comprises a collection of short and flash fiction, each featuring a female protagonist against a wide variety of genres. It has just been published in both kindle and paperback versions in all Amazon territories. Like most of her fiction it offers a working-class perspective.

She is currently preparing a new book promo website for Gosling Publishing. Her next writing project will be a children's book featuring a mixed-race pre-school girl and her pet budgie. It is intended to be the first of the Siddi & Smudge adventures.
