I write Kiwi social history and fiction, increasingly the latter, such as my novel about a Kiwi prime minister who shaped the United Nations and made major enemies in the process, 'The Plot to Kill Peter Fraser'. The 1945 story is told from the view of the investigating detective trying to identify recently released Nazis who have made death threats in the capital city of New Zealand, Wellington. It is the second outing for Detective Dan Delaney, who in 'The Death Ray Debacle' protected a scientist and his invention of a 'death ray', a true story about the 1935 invention anticipating lasers and radar. I have worked a lifetime in the capital city Wellington as a journalist and social historian. I am a fifth generation Kiwi on both sides and interested in revealing Kiwi stories such as the Irish riots during the goldrush here, 'The Lion and the Wolfhound', optioned for a movie, and 'POW The Untold Stories of New Zealanders as Prisoners of War'. These social histories feed into my fictional thrillers. My website lists all my books and those still for sale and offers four videos of launches, all too big to post on Author Central.
