Stephen E. Parker (Ph.D. Theology and Personality Studies, Emory University) is professor emeritus, School of Psychology and Counseling, Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. He has published several articles on the interface of personality theory and theology as well as on spiritual and religious development. He is the author of three books: God and Psychology: How the Early Religious Development of Famous Psychologists Influenced their Work (Lexington Books, 2023); Winnicott and Religion (Jason Aronson, 2012), a study of religious influences on the psychology of D.W. Winnicott, a well-known British pediatrician and psychoanalyst; and Led by the Spirit: Toward a Practical Theology of Pentecostal Discernment and Decision-making (Sheffield Academic Press, 1996; reissued by CPT Press, 2015), a psychological and theological examination of people's claims to divine guidance.
