Susan I. Buchalter

Susan I Buchalter is a licensed professional counselor and licensed art therapist, and a certified group psychotherapist and has over 45 years leading art therapy and psychotherapy groups. She began the art therapy program at Princeton House, Princeton, New Jersey, and she served as a Senior Primary Therapist/Art Therapist at Penn Medicine Princeton Behavioral Health for over 40 years. Susan is co-creator of the Garden State Art therapy Association; now known as The New Jersey Art Therapy Association. She taught art therapy classes in her role as an adjunct professor at Trenton State College (The college of New Jersey). Susan is the author of several books, some of which include Reduce Anxiety Now: 150+ Ways to Lessen Stress and Increase Peace & Serenity, Raising Self-Esteem in Adults: An Eclectic Approach with Art Therapy, CBT and DBT based Techniques, and A Practical Art Therapy. Susan is an author and designer of adult coloring books geared for stress reduction, and she wrote and illustrated a children’s book titled “Sam the Sneaker.” She is well versed in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her approach is eclectic, focusing on the specific needs of each client. She has a private teletherapy practice and is part of the teletherapy group practice, Stress Management Counseling, LLC.
