Lamar Dodson (1935 - present) was born in San Benito, TX, graduated from Baylor University (1961) and completed a master's degree at University of California, Stanislaus (1973). His career in education spanned forty-seven years and included service as a K-8 teacher, vice-principal, and principal in Texas and California public education. He served private education schools as a junior high teacher in Salinas, CA. (Give Me a Break; On Wings Like Eagles) and as Superintendent/Principal in Monterey, CA (The Principal's Log). He completed his career as an associate professor (education) with Chapman University at campuses in Monterey and Modesto, CA. He enjoys writing fiction for children, poetry, and about experiences in education. Currently he is enjoying retirement in Schertz (near San Antonio and serving as a lay counselor at Community Bible Church in San Antonio.
