Jamieson A. McKenzie

With nearly 50 years of experience working as a teacher and school leader, often operating on the front edge of new developments, Jamie McKenzie has kept his focus on student thinking and questioning. His books ask how we might best strengthen the capacity of students to make up their own minds and think in original, fresh ways.

A graduate of Yale with an MA from Columbia and an Ed.D. from Rutgers, Jamie has served as a teacher, a principal, a Director of Libraries and Technology, an Assistant Superintendent and a Superintendent.

His books are written in a lively, friendly style that entertains and delights while informing and challenging. In addition to publishing many books for schools and teachers, Jamie writes songs, poems, novels and short stories. He travels the world speaking with teachers about ways to challenge students.

Jamie also publishes two online journals:

1. From Now On - The Educational Technology Journal at http://fno.org

2. The Question Mark at http://questioning.org
