James Schiavone is a native New Yorker who has served in the NYC public schools, the Miami-Dade County public schools, the Monroe County (FL) schools, and is professor emeritus of Developmental Skills at CUNY. He has authored numerous articles and papers in newspapers and professional journals, as well as non-fiction trade books, and is an internationally acclaimed specialist in the psychology of reading.
