Kendall Hanson

A former magazine and newspaper editor, Kendall Hanson is the author of the historical western series Farr and Fat Jack, a new historical detective series based in 19th century Denver, and an upcoming series of sea adventures in the pre-WWII South Pacific. If you are looking for western fiction like the High Country Showdown and The Kilkenny Saga, or historical detectives such as William Murdoch or Ian Rutledge, or Adventures in Paradise with spies sirens, and sailing, you'll find these books are right up your alley.

Both The Jack Craft series and the Farr and Fat Jack series are recommended for adults.

Kendall has also been an independent publisher off and on since the 1970s when he built a hand-roll printing press from scratch and became a member of the long-defunct COSMEP. In 1999, knowing the book he was writing would not have a large commercial audience, he founded Dixon-Price Publishing, and with a prescient foolishness, purchased a large block of ISBN numbers. A book collector as well, he noticed that out-of-print books on boatbuilding, boating, and adventure travel were being ignored, so he began to publish some of the best, such as The Rob Roy Canoe by John MacGregor and Practical Boatbuilding by Adrian Neison which he took great care to edit and update for a modern reader.
