Richard Newman is the author of the poetry collections Borrowed Towns, Domestic Fugues, All the Wasted Beauty of the World, and Blues at the End of the World. His novel Graveyard of the Gods appeared in the fall of 2016. He served as editor of River Styx magazine from 1994-2016. A recipient of a Regional Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship, his work has appeared in The American Journal of Poetry, Best American Poetry, Boulevard, Crab Orchard Review, Poetry Daily, Rattle, The Sun, Verse Daily, and many other magazines and anthologies. His poem "Bellefontaine Cemetery" won first place in The Ledge Poetry Awards. His plays have been produced in St. Louis and San Diego. He currently teaches creative writing and world literature at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. Before moving to the Maghreb, he and his family lived in the Marshall Islands, Vietnam, and Japan.
