Mary B. Moore

Mary B. Moore's six poetry books are Amanda Chimera, Arthur Smith Award Winner, Madville Publishing, 2025; Dear If, Orison Books, 2022; Amanda and the Man Soul, EMRYS, 2017; Flicker, Dogfish Head Prize Winner, 2016; Eating the Light, Sable Chapbooks Winner 2016; and The Book Of Snow, 1997, Cleveland State. Her poems appeared lately or are forthcoming in Birmingham Poetry Review, POETRY, Catamaran, Prairie Schooner, NELLE, Calyx, and more. Her poems love the sounds and play of words, and revel in images of place, home and family, and art, especially paintings. A retired professor of Renaissance literature, her critical book is Desiring Voices, Women Sonneteers and Petrarchism, a feminist reading of women's love sonnet sequences. She's a native Californian and an honorary Appalachian, now living in West Virginia.
