Howard Kassinove

HOWARD KASSINOVE earned a PhD at Adelphi University’s Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science, and is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology and CBT. Dr. Kassinove has published more than 100 articles, book chapters, books,and a DVD training program. A world traveler, he has given more than 175 scholarly presentations in the USA, Argentina, Denmark, India, Greece, Korea, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain and Taiwan. His lectures focus on the definition, diagnosis, and treatment of anger problems that appear in adults and families

At Hofstra University, he served as the Psychology Department Chairperson and Director of the PhD Programs in Clinical Psychology and School Psychology. Dr. Kassinove also served as Director of the INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY AND TREATMENT OF ANGER AND AGGRESSION, and Director of a marital and sex therapy program. For many years, he also saw clients and patients in a private clinical psychology practice. He has been working collaboratively with Dr. Tafrate for more than 25 years.

Married for more than 50 years, he and his wife have two sons. Dr. Andrew Kassinove is an emergency room physician in California. Dr. Jeffrey Kassinove, also a psychologist, runs Therapy West, a child and family psychotherapy practice in New York City. They all love dogs!
