Linda McDermott

Linda McDermott grew up in a rural area near Cincinnati, Ohio, where she developed a deep love for nature and a curiosity about travel. She moved to the Los Angeles area in 1971 and began mountain climbing in the deserts and mountains of the southwest. At the same time, she developed a love for the arts and majored in Fine Arts at UCLA, where she graduated with a B.A. After raising children and completing a career in human resources, she started traveling in earnest. She has traveled and hiked in all seven continents, including working twice in Antarctica. Linda now resides in Tehachapi, California, where she hikes daily with her rescue dogs and hosts Pacific Crest Trail hikers from all over the world as they travel through the area. She continues to travel, domestically and internationally.
