Bobby Mullins

Dr. Bobby Mullins has been married to his wife, Wanda Hazlewood, since May 24, 1980. Both are natives of Memphis, Tennessee. He and Wanda have have three married children and four grandchildren.

He received a B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee (1974), and a Master of Divinity (1990) and Doctor of Ministry (1999) degrees from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Mullins served his denomination nationally on the 2001 Committee on Committees of The Southern Baptist Convention. He was National Alumni President of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary from June, 2004-June, 2006. He served on The Executive Board of The Tennessee Baptist from 2006-2011. While senior pastor of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Dr. Mullins led the church to begin a bi-weekly edited 30 minute television broadcast, “In Times Like These,” which aired regionally for five years. Bobby Mullins has been in the ministry full-time since 1981 and has served as a senior pastor at churches in Tennessee and Mississippi since 1991. He is the author of Channel of Blessing: a Spiritual Journey Into Identifying and Understanding Your Spiritual Gift, published in May, 2001. His book, Divine Disciplines, was released in November 2017 by Innovo Publishing Company.

Dr. Mullins founded A Fresh Start Ministries in July, 2009, since renamed Back To The Basics Ministries. The purpose of the ministry is to encourage and help those who are making a fresh start of some kind in life and how to deal with it from a basic biblical view, because at some time we all need a fresh start. The main focus of the ministry is a Christian television program titled, “A Fresh Start,” which airs on WVLR TV in Knoxville/Kodak, Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and repeat broadcasts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The program can also be viewed via podcast on WVLR’s web site as the program is airing. The program airs periodically on WTWV Memphis and WJBX Jackson, Mississippi.
