David McConnell

Hillsdale, Michigan

David McConnell is an award-winning author of books about Michigan. “Michigan has a unique and exciting history and I want to help readers, both young and old, discover it. Think about the stone-age people hunting huge mastodons or imagine miners finding boulders of pure copper in the 1800s! Hear the whine of a saw ripping pine logs into boards during the lumber days or the putt-putt of an early Oldsmobile or Model T that was made in Michigan. Be in awe of the brave ironworkers who stood hundreds of feet above the Great Lakes to build the Mackinac Bridge!”

His first book was published in 1981 and he has been working ever since on books and other projects to help people learn about Michigan and how it came to be the great state it is today.

Some of his books are:
