Keith Brumpton

Keith Brumpton has written around 45 children’s books for many top publishers – all designed to hook even the most reluctant readers aged 5–11 (especially boys who claim they’re “not into books”).

His stories are fast, funny and packed with cliffhangers, talking animals and brilliantly bonkers ideas. The Dino FC series follows a prehistoric football team with more enthusiasm than talent, while Rudley Cabot blasts off with a space-travelling rabbit and his chaotic adventures. His books are crammed with illustrations and playful asides, and they’ve sold in large numbers around the world.

More madcap adventures are on the way: a Dinosaur Football Facts book, a series about a boy wrestler, and Penguins in Space – all with Keith’s trademark mix of fun, entertainment and empathy.

As well as writing and illustrating books, Keith is an established TV writer. He created the CBBC spy series M.I. High and has written for shows including 64 Zoo Lane and The Dumping Ground.

Keith grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, where he more or less lived in the local library. He loved art and English at school, and counts Enid Blyton, Chekhov, Richard Osman and Michael Bond among his favourite authors. He records music, paints (not at the same time) and owes everything to his wonderful mum and dad.
