Maureen Valdes Marsh

Maureen Valdes Marsh grew up on the San Francisco Peninsula in the 1960s and 70s. She is a true product of the counterculture revolution that was taking place around her. Protest marches were the beat of the day and Maureen can recall the many times (as an 8-year-old) she and her sister Tina held their own protest rallies. Only their small protest signs generally read, 'We Want Popcorn,' and their 'demonstrations' were held in their mother's kitchen.

It was during her teens that Maureen discovered her love of vintage clothing. Her wardrobe contained everything from fabulous 1940s crepe dresses to funky and flashy men's ties. Nothing was taboo when it came to dressing as an individual.

In 1999, after working in the accounting field for far too long, and as a local newspaper reporter, Maureen once again returned to her love of vintage clothing. This time turning her passion into a career with the birth of Vintage Grace (http://www.vintagegrace.com), an on-line vintage clothing website. There she's able to combine her eye for the fabulous and funky, her off-beat sense of humor, and her all consuming love for vintage fashion magazines and catalogs, into a full-time career.

70s Fashion Fiascos is the resulting product.

Maureen Valdes Marsh currently lives in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California with her husband Barry, two American Pitbull Terrier clowns named Kid Rock and Tucker, and her beloved cat of 16 years, Atticus Finch.
