Cynthia Holz

Cynthia Holz is the author of five novels and a collection of short stories. She was born and raised in New York City and came to Toronto in 1976 as the Canadian correspondent for an American magazine. She began publishing short stories in 1980, and since then her work has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. Her essays, blogs and book reviews have been published in The Globe and Mail, The Ottawa Citizen, Quill & Quire, and The National Post. She taught creative writing at Ryerson University in Toronto for nearly twenty years and has also been a mentor for emerging writers for Diaspora Dialogues. Her website is
