Gwyneth Olofsson owes her peculiar name to her Welsh mother and her Swedish husband. She was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, and has an MA in English literature and postgraduate qualifications in education and in TEFL. She lives in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she runs Communico, a company working with English and intercultural training.
She has written four books on the English language and intercultural communication. They are "Everyone Makes Mistake" (Studentlitteratur, Sweden), "When in Rome or Rio or Riyadh" (Intercultural Press, US), which won an OAT (Outstanding Academic Title) in 2005,"English at Work for Speakers of Swedish" (Prodicta, Sweden), and "A Global View for a Worldwide Workforce." This last book is made up of a selection of columns she wrote for the Volvo Group's internal magazine over a span of fifteen years. Unfortunately she is a pedant and a know-all, but she tries to hide this as much as possible when she writes.
