Laurent Grisel

Laurent Grisel was born in 1952 at Boulogne-Billancourt, France. A former factory worker, environmental consultant, and poetry instructor, he is now engaged full-time in the writing of poetry, criticism, and a five volumes Journal de la crise de 2006, 2007, 2008, d'avant et d'après.

His poems have been published in various print and electronic journals and have been translated into English (by Cid Corman and by Penny Allen), Italian (by Fabio Scotto, Beatrice Monroy and Andea Inglese), German (Rüdiger Fischer). Recent publications include: La Nasse / Die Reuse / La nassa / The fishtrap (En forêt, 2001), Changeons d'espace & de temps (Vouïr, DVD, 2009), Un hymne à la paix (16 fois) (publie.net 2008, publie.papier 2012), various incarnations of the poem cycle, PP (translated by Penny Allen, Saint Ann's review, New York, winter 2008), Les misères et les malheurs de la guerre d'après Jacques Callot, noble lorrain (with drawings by L.L. De Mars, Ion ed. 2012).

Laurent Grisel has also co-translated with Rüdiger Fischer a French-language version of the poetry of Cid Corman (Pith Water / Eau-Forte / Wasserfraft - En forêt, 1998).
