Alan Goldfein

I love to write.

As I have been an historian and an economist, my writings tend towards combining these fields with my fiction - with Europe thrown in the bargain - having lived there during several decades. My fiction includes stories about the adventures of American Jews in today‘s Germany, explorations of Europe in order to better understand America, and poetic analyses of stereotypes and their consequences in the U.S.

I have written for journals like Time, New York, Playboy, Oui, Satire, and others. I also wrote numerous episodes for television series, such as Knots Landing, Perfect Couples, Bodies of Evidence, and Paradise.

My first book "Heads" has been anthologized in a Random House Collection, On the Job: Fiction About Work. In the 1970s, I received the Mark Twain Society Award and a New York State Council of the Arts award for fiction.
