Klaus Schubert

Born in 1963 in Naila, Bavaria, Germany

I live with my wife in my hometown of Naila, which also serves as the setting for many of my novels.

As an author of historical fiction, I have spent many years researching the history of National Socialism, the Second World War, and the lives of the people who experienced those turbulent times. For my novels, I conduct extensive research at original historical locations and draw on contemporary sources, eyewitness accounts, and documented historical events. The result is historical fiction that combines authentic historical facts with compelling fictional narratives, immersing readers in the past.

One of my main goals is to tell history from the perspective of ordinary people—their hopes, fears, difficult decisions, and determination to survive. Several of my novels are inspired by true events and by stories from my own family's history.

My aim is to bring history to life while preserving the memory of those whose lives were shaped by one of the darkest periods of the twentieth century.
