Matthew Tree was born in London, far too long ago. He taught himself Catalan in 1979, and began writing and publishing in that language in 1990, for reasons of his own (don’t ask, I’m trying to keep this short). He reverted to his mother tongue (English) in 2006. In all he has published 13 books in Catalan, including essays, short stories, diatribes, novels, a road book and an autobiography. He has also published five novels in English (all of them listed on this site) the latest of which, ‘We’ll Never Know’ came out in February of 2024. The English novels are reasonably priced, and have received good editorial reviews from trade magazines such as Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly. Reader feedback has also been good, with all the titles getting between 4.5 and 5 stars. The novels deal with very different subjects, but all contain humour, suspense, some violence and a certain amount of erotic content.
