Thiago Rodrigues is Head of the Graduate Program on Strategic Studies of the Fluminense National University (UFF), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is also full professor at the Graduate Program on Political Sciences at the same University. He is Director of Institutional Relations at the Brazil’s Defense Association (ABED), coordinator of the International Relations Sections of the Brazil’s International Relations Association (ABRI). He holds a position of invited researcher for the Brazil’s Ministry of Defense, developing a research program on refugees and international security. He is also Communication Director of the International Studies Association’s (ISA) Global South Caucus.
He got a PhD on International Relations at the Pontifical University of São Paulo (PUC-SP, Brazil), with a research internship at the Institut des Hautes Études de l’Amérique Latine (IHEAL) of the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris III), a post-doctorate certificate on Strategic Studies at Fluminense Federal University, a masters’ Degree and a bachelor’s Degree both on International Relations at PUC-SP.
Thiago Rodrigues main subjects of research are: drug-trafficking and militarization of public safety policies, urban security, transborder conflicts in Latin America, theory of International Relations and International Security. He has been publishing extensively on these areas/subject.
