Susan C. Larsen, Ph.D. has served as Curator of the Permanent Collection at the Whitney
Museum of American Art, New York; Professor of Art History, University of Southern California;
Collector, Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, and is currently Executive Director of the Dorothea and Leo Rabkin Foundation headquartered in Portland, Maine.
Her latest book on Charles Biederman is a biography and monograph, co-authored with the late
Neil Juhl Larsen (no relation) who was a trusted friend of the artist and his designated biographer.
Susan is a specialist on American modernism, especially that of the 1930s. She lives with her
husband, Lauri Robert Martin, in South Portland, Maine
